TL;DR

Serial Founder / CTO / TY Wang / 汪庭宇

Code is just the beginning.I build cross-border systems andhigh-performing teams that drive real business value.

I am a serial entrepreneur with 10+ years of operating experience, an AI startup CEO, and a CTO who has helped scale organizations toward the hundred-person mark.

My work spans HealthTech, intelligent fitness, and deep-tech advisory. I have gone from reverse-engineering medical devices inside dialysis centers to leading large engineering teams toward international security recognition, and from surviving the COVID shock in fitness to driving AI posture-assessment deployment into WorldGym and RIZAP.

I believe elite technology only matters when it solves a real business problem. My current focus is using AI to redesign modern R&D workflows and build products that can set a higher bar in global markets.

The Evolution Timeline

From Architecting Systems to Building Companies: A 10-Year Track Record

I do not think of this as a year-by-year resume. I think of it as three eras, each one producing a sharper operating model and a different layer of founder maturity.

The Executive Era2018 - Present

The phase where I moved from hands-on builder into an operator shaping organizations, commercial systems, and cross-border execution.

Crosspoint

2018-Present

Crosspoint: turning AI posture assessment into something chain fitness teams would actually use

By keeping the system wearable-free, I was able to take AI posture assessment into real gyms like WorldGym and RIZAP. What mattered most to me was not the demo, but whether coaches would actually use it.

Founder / AI Product & GTM Lead

>MegaFit in Shanghai validated demand outside Taiwan early.

>RIZAP and WorldGym proved chain-wide deployability.

>The product restarted after COVID and is now aimed at global physio use cases.

dentall

2018-Present

dentall: building the platform, AI layer, and governance base together

At dentall, I was growing the product and engineering organization while also helping build the cloud HIS, the AI product line, and the governance base underneath it.

CTO / Org Builder & AI Product Lead

>Launched a more modern cloud HIS to rebuild clinic operations on a stronger security foundation.

>Turned dentall.ai into an AI layer for tooth charts, treatment plans, insurance rules, and future CRM / CS workflows.

>Completed ISO 27001 / 27701 buildout in four months and won a BSI security award.

Additional Signals

PurismEV · 2024-Present

This chapter was a mix of technical advisory and some R&D collaboration. I mainly helped with strategy, business model, and technical-feasibility questions, while also contributing to core IoT algorithm work and AI battery-efficiency research.

The Lesson

A CTO's true output is no longer code. It is culture and architecture. The real moat behind international scale is the ability to drive innovation while building security discipline, execution clarity, and a high-performance team at the same time.

The Crucible Era2015 - 2018

Windfalls, fundraising, conflict, and hard resets. This was the real battlefield of becoming a repeat founder.

Botmize

2016-2017

Building the analytics layer for chatbots before the market matured

Botmize was designed as Google Analytics for chatbots, and it also became a vehicle for technical thought leadership, community building, and fundraising.

Founder / Conversational Analytics

>Named one of Chatbot Magazine's top 100 writers.

>Organized a chatbot meetup in Taiwan with 100+ founders and developers.

>Backed by Zeroth and invited to its Hong Kong accelerator.

QuantumSmile

2017-2018

Reverse-engineering dialysis-machine protocols into a real-time monitoring system

I spent three months inside dialysis centers, studied multiple machine brands, and built an IoT bridge that turned manual note-taking into live clinical monitoring.

Founder / Medical IoT Systems

>Spent three months on-site learning the dialysis workflow.

>Reverse-engineered the machine data protocol.

>Built an IoT bridge and dashboard-ready monitoring system.

Additional Signals

AutoInsight · 2015-2016

AutoInsight was built for a fragmented used-car market where a basic Carfax report was not enough, and the target market from day one was the US.

The Lesson

In startups, writing excellent code is often the easiest part. Founder survival depends far more on judgment about people, team fit, and a business model strong enough to absorb shock. Those scars later became operating discipline.

The Genesis Era2008 - 2013

This was the origin layer: elite academic signals, global competitions, and an early instinct to use advanced technology on real-world problems.

Imagine Cup 2009

2009

Building a dynamic AI platform for volunteer matching

This project explored how social signals and matching logic could connect volunteers with the right service opportunities.

Student Builder / Matching Systems

>Reached the global top six.

>Connected algorithm design to a real social workflow.

NTU Distinguished Student Scholarship

2009-2010

Two consecutive years of academic distinction at NTU

Receiving this scholarship twice reflected the operating density and discipline I had already built early on.

Student / Academic Excellence

>Won the academic scholarship in back-to-back years.

>Received formal university recognition.

UIUC Fellowship

2013

Awarded the UIUC CS Excellence Fellowship

This was a strong external signal of technical depth before my later founder and operator years.

Research Candidate / Computer Science

>Top-tier doctoral-track recognition.

>An early external signal of technical depth.

Additional Signals

Imagine Cup 2008 · 2008

This student project combined pollution sensing with scooter helmets and explored how distributed data could describe an entire city.

Imagine Cup 2010 · 2010

Before blockchains became a mainstream narrative, I was already exploring transparent fund tracking as a systems problem.

The Lesson

This era built the deepest layer of my engineering confidence. It taught me that there is no system that cannot be understood, only engineers who have not yet found the right way into it.

Would you let the same engineer code, test, review, and deploy alone?

Anthropic's new article made me more certain that AI agents also need role separation. A lot of team lessons get repeated almost exactly.
